Interestingly, there are some evolutionary biologists who see that the ability to ‘put yourselves in the shoes of the other’ is precisely the thing which began the development of human consciousness. I think it’s cool to imagine that the Golden Rule is so deeply entwined in the very development of who we are as humans.
