With a title like that I thought this packet of sweets was going to reveal something profound about God, and in a way it did.
The word “skruvblandning” is translated on the back of the packet as “nuts & bolts”.
So a direct translation might be “God is: nuts & bolts”. Theologically sound when you consider the following verse of Scripture:
“You are worthy, our Lord and God,
to receive glory and honor and power,
for you created all things,
and by your will they were created
and have their being.” – Revelation 4:11 [emphasis mine]
So the planet warms and the Kenyans kill their neighbors and we tweet about nothing and hope the servers hold out.

Continuing the series:
At the end of my life, I would like to have back all the time I spent untangling cables.

Fantastic animated web store – all online shopping should be this much fun!

Must reverse my over-use of the words “fantastic” and “excellent”.

Just a minor diversion – mostly for my own benefit – as I think through our new youth work project. Some notes from Church on the Edge
:
- Purpose: what are we here for?
- everything else should be measured up against this
- Values: what is important to us?
- values are often not what you make up, but are what you observe about yourselves and the way you do things…
- Vision: where are we going?
- vision should be imaginable, desirable, feasible, focussed, flexible and communicable
- Strategy: how will we get there?
- plans to make it work – reality is shown up when you think about strategy
- Goals: what will we do and by when?
- goals help you to make a start
Strategy and goals are likely to change as you travel along the journey – they are contextual – and change because they are based on the latest information – as you learn lessons and build up knowledge your strategy and goals are likely to change.

BBC One and BBC Drama present a new production of the story of The Passion for Easter 2008
-
During Holy Week 2008 BBC1 will broadcast The Passion. The series will be shown in peak time and will be seen by many millions of people. These notes are intended to help churches and others to prepare for the series.
I’m not a hugely political figure, but I do enjoy politics, so I couldn’t resist posting this video of a recent speech by William Hague describing what would happen if Blair became ‘le President’ of Europe. It’s only about a minute long – and is animated with a number of images so you don’t have to watch Hague throughout.
Hat tip to the BBCs Nick Robinson.
“Some conversations are hard because they involve things that are hard to say. Others are hard because they involve things that are hard to hear.”
