  1. This reminds me of a quote comparing the church to Noah’s ark found in Frederick Buechner’s book Peculiar Treasurers: “If it weren’t for the storm without, you could never stand the stench within.”

  2. Oops. That should be “Treasures” not “Treasurers”, although the latter are sometimes indeed peculiar.
